PLAYLIST: Dearest Dolly

We lost a giant this week, both in music and life itself. Dolly Parton is gone, but thankfully her legacy and music live on.
A giant in music and culture (EGOT winner), Dolly was an absolutely brilliant songwriter, an incredibly generous public figure (her Imagination Library has given books to over 30 million children) and a uniquely unifying force in a divided America.
Many words have been written remembering Dolly this week and they're worth reading. For MixedTapes, we'll let sound speak for us. So below are two remembrances.
First, a playlist of my personal 20 favorite Dolly songs (big fan...), as well as a link to Dolly Parton's America, an excellent radio series WNYC made a few years back that gets under the hood of who she was and why she meant so much to so many.
We'll miss you Dolly.
